You’re going to die’: Harrowing words of armed home invader
A Logan family has been left traumatised after being held at knife-point by a group of armed men during a violent home invasion on Monday.
Police believe three male adults are responsible – two of whom can be seen on CCTV approaching a house in Daisy Hill armed with large hunting knives.
In an exclusive interview with 9News, victim Richard McCooey said one of the men told him that he would kill him if he had to.
“I was in the upstairs study just working when I heard a commotion downstairs,” he said.
“I went to the top of the stairs and was confronted by a masked man holding a very large knife.
“The knife was to my chest facing up to my neck and (he) said, ‘You’re going to die’.
“I then said, ‘What do you want, I’ll give you whatever you want’, and gave him my wallet with all the contents.”
The group travelling in a white Hyundai Santa Fe that police say was stolen from Waterford on Monday.
The car was found dumped on Defiance Road at 3.40pm on Tuesday.
Detectives from Beenleigh CIB are investigating.
