The celebrity blogger turned cop charged with double murder over the disappearance of Sydney couple

Rookie cop Beau Lamarre was a teenage celebrity blogger who became a police officer.

But overnight, he found himself at the centre of a bizarre and mysterious police investigation, which left him behind bars accused of two murders.

This morning he walked into Bondi Police Station, where detectives wanted to speak with him over the disappearance and suspected murder of his former lover Jesse Baird and his new partner Luke Davies.

Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty from the Homicide Squad said Lamarre and Baird’s relationship would be a key focus of the alleged murder investigation.

“The 28-year-old man facing these charges was in a relationship with Jesse sometime ago, which finished a couple of months ago so that will be an obvious line of inquiry,” Doherty said.

Baird and Davies vanished earlier this week.

The alarm was raised when blood-stained clothing, a credit card and an $8000 watch were found dumped in a skip bin at Cronulla in Sydney’s south.

Police rushed to Baird’s inner-city Paddington townhouse, where they found large amounts of blood and signs of a struggle.

Today, police revealed they also found a fired bullet and cartridge case.

“This had now been ballistically matched to a NSW Police firearm,” Doherty claimed.

Police allege the gun belonged to Lamarre and was found checked-in to a police station firearm safe.

CCTV emerged which possibly shows the missing men walking towards their home on Monday night.

It also shows a mysterious white van which police believe they have now located.

“We will allege in court that van was used to transport the bodies,” Doherty said.

Baird, 26, was a former TV presenter, while his partner, 29-year-old Luke Davies worked full-time as a Qantas flight attendant. Lamarre was Baird’s boyfriend, but they broke up last year.

Soon after joining the police force in 2018, Lamarre was at the centre of an internal police investigation.

The inquiry focused on footage of Lamarre tasering a man in Darlinghurst.

He was later cleared of any wrongdoing.

Before putting on the blue uniform, Lamarre was a celebrity blogger and was photographed with a string of celebs including Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Harry Styles, Selena Gomez and Lady Gaga.

“When I was 16, I used to go to a lot of red carpet events and I’d always try and meet celebrities,” Lamarre said on his podcast.

“All of a sudden I’m 19 and I’m at the Golden Globes with like everybody… it’s crazy.”

In his podcast, Lamarre also spoke of his pride in his sexuality.

“When I was 16, I first figured out I was gay and then about three months (later) I came out to my family at (Lady Gaga’s) concert so she came out for me,” Lamarre said.

“She’s a hundred per cent a mentor and an idol to me.”

Last night police swooped on Lamarre’s mother’s home at Balmain.

A Current Affair has been told she’s an ex-police officer.

Lamarre has reportedly been on a week’s sick leave and shut down all social media activity.

Tonight, the bodies of the two missing men have not yet been found.

“It’s really important that we locate the bodies, not only for the cause of death but also for answers for the family,” Doherty said.
