A Perth musician is fighting for life in hospital after he was attacked by a stranger in the Fremantle suburb of Hilton.
Detectives say 36-year-old Frederick Bertram had caught a bus from the Spearwood area shortly before 11pm on Sunday when he became involved in a fight with an unknown man.
During the fight Mr Bertram fell, hitting his head on the pavement and receiving serious head injuries.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the man was urgently rushed to Royal Perth Hospital where he underwent surgery and is now in a critical but stable condition.
Neighbour Steve Costen told Nine News that they were alerted to the incident after Mr Bertram’s mother found him outside.
“We found our neighbour laid out on the street with his mum calling for help and she was very distressed,” Mr Costen said.
“The mother said something else about somebody being there and there being a scuffle and an argument.”
Western Australia Police are urging the unknown man who was seen with the victim to come forward, and have asked to speak to anyone who was on a bus travelling from Spearwood to Hilton between 10.20pm and 10.50pm.
