Model Rachael Finch to undergo surgery to remove painful ruptured breast implant
Model Rachael Finch will have her breast implants removed after one ruptured and began to leak.
Finch, 32, was “shaking with fear” ahead of the surgery on Friday amid uncertainty over how much damage has been done to her body.
The Queensland-born model has had the implants since she was 17 years old.
She described them as being a part of her entire adult life, even while she was breastfeeding her children.
But Finch realised there was an issue about two years ago.
“I woke up and noticed one was a little different to the other,” she told her social media followers.
“I immediately went in for an MRI which the doctor told me I had a capsular contracture in my left breast – meaning the skin the body creates around the implant to protect itself has tightened.
“I was told it was fine, common and nothing needed to be done urgently.”
Then Finch started experience a “bad” pain in her left breast.
“I’ve been in and out of clinics for months, until last week I was told my left implant was in fact ruptured, meaning there’s a hole with its contents leaking out,” she said.
“I’m excited and I’m also shaking with fear.
