Man charged after woman allegedly hit by car on Sydney footpath

A man has been charged after a woman was allegedly hit by a car while walking down a street in Sydney’s east.
Police allege the car mounted the kerb and collided with the woman before hitting a tree on Avoca Street in Randwick about 11.10am yesterday.
Police confirmed the 30-year-old woman was taken to St Vincent’s hospital in a serious but stable condition.

“A 44-year-old male was also treated and taken to St Vincent’s hospital in a stable condition,” NSW Police said in a statement.
The 44-year-old was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving, and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.
He was refused bail and is due to face Parramatta Local Court today.
