Family dog killed after escaping during Perth break-in

Police are investigating a break-in which resulted in the death of a family dog in Perth’s south early yesterday.
Shortly before 2am, detectives say a man opened the front gate of a home on Surrey Road in Wilson and went through to the backyard before jumping the fence to the property next door.
The man then proceeded to rob the next-door property, stealing several items.
Police have released a CCTV still of a man they’d like to speak with about a break-in in Perth which resulted in a family dog escaping and getting hit by a car. (WA Police)
Because the front gate to the first property was left open, the family’s four-year-old black poodle, Bella, was able to escape.
Bella was hit by a car when she ventured onto the road outside and later died.
Police have released CCTV of a man they would like to speak with regarding the investigation.
