Woman charged with attempted murder after baby allegedly found with stab wound
A woman has been charged with attempted murder after a baby was allegedly found with a stab wound at a Queensland.
The three-month-old baby is today in a stable condition, after being taken to Queensland’s Children’s Hospital in a critical condition early yesterday.
The child was found with a stab wound to the abdomen in Ripley, near Ipswich, around 5.30am yesterday.
A 26-year-old woman was taken into police custody yesterday and has now been charged with one count of attempted murder.
“Police provided immediate first aid and took a 26-year-old woman who resides at the address with the child, into custody without incident,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
The woman is in police custody and is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday.
A crime scene has been established as investigations continue.
