Tributes to nine-year-old girl found dead in Queensland floods
The family of a little girl who was found dead after she went missing during floods near Brisbane on Boxing Day have paid tribute to her.
Mia, nine, who was severely autistic, disappeared in Rochedale South in Logan in what the family described as “unthinkable”.
“On the evening of 26 December 2023, Mia took off over the back fence at home, just before a storm hit,” her dad Ryan’s cousin, Tamara Turner said on a fundraising page.
“She was found a few kms from home in the water unresponsive.”
Turner said the little girl “loved adventures.”
Queensland Police confirmed her body was found after a search.
