Teen dies after suffering knife wound at NSW house
A gathering among close friends in the NSW South Coast town of Bomaderry has taken a deadly turn, with an 18-year-old killed by a knife wound to his chest.
Bailey Jones died after suffering a stab wound.
NSW Police Acting Inspector Ian Griffin said a knife has been found and will be “forensically examined.”
Bailey was among a group of around 10 people at his cousin’s home on West Birriley street around 7pm, when police received multiple calls to triple zero.
Neighbour Gage Hood said up to eight police cars, police rescue and an ambulance turned up, and said they heard somebody “fell on a knife.”
Bailey was airlifted to Shoalhaven hospital in a critical condition but couldn’t be saved.
Detectives have spoken with witnesses as the home remains a crime scene.
Neighbours say they could hear what is a usual weekend gathering at the property but there was nothing to suggest a fight had broken out.
Police however have not ruled out whether something more sinister took place.
“Our eyes are open to all possibilities,” Griffin, said.
