Rescue operation underway after military aircraft crash near Darwin
A search and rescue mission is urgently underway after a military aircraft crashed near Darwin.
9News understands the US Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey crashed off the Tiwi Islands this morning.
The incident occurred during the Exercise Predator’s Run 2023 and initial reports suggest the incident involves United States defence personnel and that Australian Defence Force members were not involved.
The extent of the injuries to the military personnel are unknown, and Darwin Hospital remains on high alert. However reports suggest there are no fatalities.
