Queensland teenager dies in crash on the way to Taylor Swift in Melbourne
A teenage girl has died in a crash while driving from Gold Coast to Melbourne to see Taylor Swift’s concert.
Emergency services were called to Dunedoo Road in Ballimore near Dubbo after reports of a two-car crash, where they found an SUV and a semi-trailer having collided head-on on Thursday just before 6pm.
NSW Police said a 16-year-old in the front seat died at the scene.
Another 10-year-old girl, believed to be her sister, was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
“The driver of the semi-trailer was taken to Dubbo Hospital in a stable condition,” police said.
It’s understood the Gold Coast girls were travelling with their mother to Melbourne for her shows this weekend and then planned to drive to Sydney for next weekend’s concerts.
