Pedestrian dies after serious Sydney crash
A man has died after he was hit by a car in Sydney’s inner west.
The crash took place on Parramatta Road in Ashfield, west of Frederick Street, at about 10.40am.
The pedestrian, believed to be aged in his 60s, suffered critical head injuries and died at the scene after receiving treatment.
Aerial footage showed multiple ambulances on site.
The driver of the car, a man believed to be in his 80s, was uninjured.
He has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
The closed lanes have since re-opened, and traffic has returned to normal.
Police are investigating, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
