Pakistan’s Rich Cultural Heritage Celebrated at Pakistan Mango and Cultural Festival in Sydney
The High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra and its Consulate General in Sydney in collaboration with the Pakistani Diaspora organized the largest ever Mango and Cultural Festival in Australia.
The event held at Fairfield Showground in Sydney, brought together a diverse audience of around 10,000 people to celebrate Pakistan’s rich culture, heritage, cuisine, and the exquisite taste of its renowned mangoes.
The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including the Representative of the Honourable Premier of New South Wales; Senator David Shoebridge;
Senator Mehreen Faruqi; Hon. Julia Finn MP; Hon. Nathan Hagarty MP; Hon. Anne Stanley MP; and Hon. Warren Eric Kirby MP.
A large numbers of local Mayors, Councillors and members of the diplomatic community also participated. Their presence underscored the significance of this event in highlighting the multicultural fabric of Australian society and key role played by the vibrant Pakistani Diaspora in this regard.
The Representative of the Premier stated, “Events like the Pakistan Mango and Cultural Festival highlight the vibrant multicultural tapestry of our society. It is a testament to the strength and unity of our diverse communities, and I am delighted to be a part of this celebration.”
His Excellency Mr. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, High Commissioner for Pakistan to Australia, expressed his gratitude to the attendees and participants. In his remarks, he said, “The Pakistan Mango and Cultural Festival is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the richness of our culture, cuisine, and the exceptional quality of our mangoes.
We are deeply honoured by the support and enthusiasm of the Australian community, and we look forward to many more such events to strengthen our bilateral and multicultural ties”.
The festival featured an array of stalls, showeasing different varieties of Pakistani mangoes, traditional Pakistani food, cultural artefacts, clothing and jewellery, and information on tourism and cultural heritage.
Musical performances and exhibitions of Pakistani arts and crafts added to the vibrant atmosphere, providing attendees with an immersive cultural experience.
The festival was attended by media representatives, local communities, and Pakistani Diaspora form across Australia, reflecting the wide interest and support for this vibrant cultural event.
