Nursing assistant charged with assaulting elderly residents at Sydney aged care home
A nursing assistant has been charged after allegedly assaulting four elderly residents at a Sydney aged care home.
This week it was reported to NSW Police that two residents, aged 92 and 87, had been assaulted at a facility in Epping, in the city’s north-west, earlier this month.
The 87-year-old woman had reportedly suffered facial injuries.
An investigation was launched and police were made aware of two other alleged assaults on different residents earlier in the year.
The residents – two 95-year-old women – were allegedly slapped by a nursing assistant.
A 25-year-old woman was arrested at a home in Homebush on Wednesday and taken to Ryde Police Station.
She was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV); and three counts of common assault (DV).
The woman was refused bail and appeared at Hornsby Local Court yesterday, where she was given bail to reappear on May 10.
