Man arrested over alleged involvement in armed Sydney home invasion
A man has been arrested over his alleged involvement in an aggravated burglary, which saw three armed men force their way into a home in Sydney’s west last month.
Police received reports shots were fired at a Lidcombe home just before 10pm on July 19, 2023.
Police allege the men assaulted and threatened a 31-year-old man before fleeing a short time later.
The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics. A 30-year-old woman who was inside the property was not injured.
Following an extensive investigation two search warrants were executed in Marys and Werrington about 8.45am yesterday.
Police found, and seized what they allege is a rifle, ammunition, drugs, cash, drug paraphernalia, and electronic devices at the properties.
Two men, aged 27 and 29, were later arrested at a hotel in Scott Street, Liverpool.
They were taken to Liverpool Police Station, where the younger man was charged with fire firearm at dwelling-house with disregard for safety, and special aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence-weapon.
He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today.
The older man was charged with hinder police in execution of duty and was granted bail.
He will appear in Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 6 September 2023.
The investigation was originally conducted under Strike Force Lovelock but later formed part of Task Force Magnus, which aims to target and disrupt gun-related and violent crime and investigate organised criminal activity.
