Group storms Melbourne home with gun, demanding man clear his phone
The victim of a shocking home invasion in Melbourne’s east is pleading for the public’s help to identify the three masked men who held him at gunpoint.
The homeowner was pinned to the floor after he answered the door of his home on Turnbull Avenue in Oakleigh East at about 9pm on May 10.
The group of three men had a photo of resident Frank that he had never seen or shared before and made demands for him to delete items on his phone.
They then forced their way into his home and one of the three intruders pulled out a gun, before threatening and hitting Frank with it.
CCTV footage shows the trio pinning the resident to the ground.
“I said, I can’t delete it while you’ve got a gun in my head. And then all of a sudden, they’ve started beating me in the face,” Frank said.
A woman living in the same home then intervened, running toward the attackers.
The three attackers fled in an unknown car with Frank’s phone, and are still on the run.
Police don’t know what car they arrived in and have not been able to track the device’s location.
Frank has said he’s never seen the men before.
They’re described as being aged in their 20s and wearing dark clothing.
Frank was taken to hospital with facial injuries.
