Fire erupts between two apartment blocks in Sydney’s south-west
Two apartment blocks have been saved after a large fire erupted in Sydney’s south-west.
An electrical transformer caught alight between two unit blocks in Guildford around 2pm today.
More than 20 firefighters worked to stop the blaze from spreading to nearby homes.
At least 18 people were evacuated.
There have been no injuries reported.
Firefighters managed to contain the fire and saved several apartment buildings from any damage.
Residents will be able to return to their homes once the buildings have been aired out.
Fire and Rescue NSW is investigating the cause of the fire.
