Arrests made in alleged murder plot against Western Sydney rap group OneFour

Two men have been arrested over an alleged conspiracy to murder four members of the Western Sydney rap group OneFour.
Police allege two members of a known criminal group had been contracted by a separate criminal syndicate to kill four members of the rap group from Mount Druitt.
A 26-year-old man and a 20-year-old man have been arrested today in relation to the alleged murder plot, while police say two more men are expected to be arrested and charged.

The men were arrested during search warrants carried out in Sydney at 6.10am today.
Police have issued a warrant for a fifth man, who they believe is overseas.
Detective Superintendent Peter Faux said the criminal group had conducted surveillance on the four targets, and had also followed them on social media.
Investigators said they had known about the alleged plot since the end of 2023.
“There’s a number of things we’ve done overtly to stop this from happening,” Superintendent Faux said.
“This is about dismantling organized crime networks, not disrupting them.
“If anyone is involved in these serious crimes, if anyone thinks they can profit from serious crimes, they will be identified and prosecuted.”

Police said they were still trying to find a motive for the alleged murder plot, but said the group contracted to kill them was doing it for financial gain, and did not have personal conflicts with the targeted people.
“Obviously, we are trying to get to the bottom of the motive of these four males, we’re looking at everything in respect of that.”
Detective Superintendent Joseph Doueihi, Commander of State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, said police believed the same group was involved in an alleged attempted kidnapping of a man in an apartment complex in Ryde in March.
More than 722kg of cocaine was found in the Ryde apartment complex, which police believe the group knew about.
Both 26-year-old man and 20-year-old man are expected to be charged with conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to kidnap, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, firearm offences, and large commercial quantity of prohibited drug supply.
