Four men charged over alleged importation of $3 million worth of ice
Four men have been charged over the alleged importation of more than $3 million worth of ice.
An air cargo consignment from the US arrived in Sydney last week and was found to contain 15 kilograms of methylamphetamine, commonly known as ice.
The street value of 15 kilograms of ice is estimated to be $3.75 million.
The package was declared to contain a power drive unit.
Police carried out search warrants at a business in Fairfield and at two properties in Cabramatta and Canley Vale yesterday.
During the searches, 15 kilograms of ice, more than six kilograms of cocaine and one kilogram of heroin was seized.
Officers also seized $600,000 in cash, heat sealing machines and other items.
The combined street value of all the drugs is estimated to be more than $16 million.
Four men aged between 24 and 32 were arrested and subsequently charged at Fairfield Police Station.
The men appeared before the court yesterday where they were refused bail.
The men will reappear before the court today.
Police said investigations are continuing.
