Police find further human remains at popular Queensland tourist spot
Police will examine missing persons files in a bid to identify suspected human remains found at a popular Far North Queensland tourist spot last week.
The remains were found by a tourist at Mossman Gorge, 20km north of Port Douglas, on August 22.
Police divers searched the area and found more suspected human bones on August 28 and 29.
Police said forensic testing is underway to establish the origin of the remains.
“The comprehensive search has concluded and no further remains have been located,” a spokesperson said.
The discovery was made months after a 54-year-old woman went missing from the Mossman River in January.
