Popular cake sold at IKEA stores across Australia recalled

A popular cake sold at IKEA stores is being recalled across Australia over fears they could contain metal.
The NSW Food Authority has issued a notice advising people they should not eat Almondy Almond Cake with Daim with a best before date of November 18, 2023.
It is believed the cake sold in a 400g package may contain metal, which could cause illness or injury if consumed.

The cake has been sold at IKEA stores in New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
“Consumers should not eat this product and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund,” the NSW Food Authority said.
“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”
Australia is not the only country impacted, with both the UK and Scotland announcing recalls for the same variety over metal concerns.
