Charges laid over alleged looting of flood-hit homes in Melbourne

Two men have been charged after a flooded home was allegedly looted in Maribyrnong in north-west Melbourne.
Police claim one man entered a home that a family had evacuated, and that he stole up to $15,000 worth of belongings before fleeing in a waiting blue Ford Territory.
It’s alleged two other men were waiting in the car.

Police arrested two men in Sunshine West at about 10.30am yesterday.
A 26-year-old man was charged with 12 offences including burglary, obtain property by deception, and handle stolen goods.
He was bailed and will appear in court in April next year.
A 33-year-old man is expected to be charged on summons with deception offences and will appear in court at a later date.
Police are still seeking to identify a third man who they say may be able to assist them with their enquiries.
