Body found in search for young man swept away in NSW floods

The body believed to be that of a New South Wales man who went missing in floodwaters at the weekend has been found.
The 19-year-old, from Balranald in the state’s Central West, went missing at about 11.30am on Saturday after being swept into the deluge.
Despite exhaustive efforts from police, the State Emergency Service (SES), Rural Fire Service and Marine Rescue no trace of him was located.

A body police believe is the young man was found nearby this morning.
The tragedy comes after two other NSW residents were killed when they were swept into floodwaters in Eugowra.
Devastating flooding has inundated much of Australia’s east coast in recent months, with recovery efforts in Queensland, NSW, Victoria and South Australia now underway.
Authorities have warned however that Aussies aren’t in the clear yet, with “the first tropical storm of the season” making landfall this week.
The front stretched 260 kilometres across south-east Queensland, bringing flash flooding to some suburbs of the Gold Coast.

A storm warning was issued large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall for some parts, including the Tropical Coast and Tablelands and Wide Bay Burnett.
The volatile weather was driven by a trough and cold front, which is causing temperatures to plummet with the thunder and lightning to follow.
